LEMONS IN & OUT
How does analog and digital techniques effect the visual outcome of a piece of work? That is being explored through the process of word iterations in Lemons In and Out.
When life gives you lemonade, don’t try to make lemons. This phrase becomes the foundation for a visual exploration where each word is transformed into its own symbolic expression. Its simplicity invites deconstruction, each word treated as a distinct element within a larger narrative.
Through both digital and analog iteration (sketching, scanning, layering, and reworking by hand) each version evolves as part of an ongoing dialogue between concept and form. This process emphasizes exploration over resolution, allowing meaning to shift and expand with each pass. The final outcome is a hand-bound book, with each page dedicated to a single word. This tactile format documents the iterative process and invites the viewer to slow down, experience each word independently, and reconsider the phrase as a collection of evolving ideas rather than a fixed statement.
